This is a very very late update of my last unit as a first year, which ended in may.
The first image belong to the Commentable Illustration function and the end user context for this outcome is ' poster design'

The second function is the Informative illustration, the end user context is in a form of a ' book mark' that gives interesting facts about CCTV.

The third image is the Decorative Illustration. 'Surveillance' was the theme for all 3 functions of illustration. The end user context for this particular function is ' sticker design'.

Elvis Presley

The penultimate unit for my first year at uni, omg this year has gone by so fast =O
Word & Image
'Music, rather like food, is something, we as humans, can’t live without. It forms a universal language all of its own and as with food, can be a reflection on the country of origin, era, sociodemographic and other associated influences.

Working in groups of four throughout the duration of the unit, you are asked to respond to one of the following genres of music, which will be determined by a random selection process'
The artist that I was assign to is Elvis Presley - Rock & Roll.
I am getting very excited about this unit, Been watching Elvis's ' That's the way it is' concert from 1970s Las Vegas tour.
" This is an Elvis at the height of his powers holding an audience spellbound with his charisma, talent and amazing voice."
I have chosen 'Blue suede shoes' and 'Hound dog' lyrics to base my initials drawings from.

Final six images

Endangered Species

Whiles doing my research for this project I came across the Guardian website, 'In picture the Noughties - a decade of lost species. I decided to look into the theme Environmental which led me to the Red list of threatened species website. The site itself has a lot of useful information regarding all kinds of animal species. This is where my research really started to have an outcome; I looked into animals that became critically endangered,Extinct in the wild and extinct all in the Noughties.

Extinct in the wild = EW = Triangle
Extinct = EX = Circle
Critically endangered = CR = Square
I came up with my own sign for each categories of animals with mathematics shapes.

More Development drawing of the Golden toad, Oryx dammah and Spix’s macaw with different drawing techniques.

First initials ideas of how to represent the animals. Top left is of the Spix’s macaw with a tag that reads: extinct: £00.00. (With more research I found that their critically endangered, not extinct.) Top right is the idea that I develop on towards the final pieces.

Journey through Thailand ( final peices)

For the 'drawing approaches' unit I have chosen the theme "journey" because I was going to Thailand initially for x-mass and New Year’s holiday. While I was on my journeys I realize that Thailand is my Utopia so the unit had a little tweak of the utopia theme as well as journeys. The final pieces consist of places and things I see while I was on my holiday. I decided to have my final pieces present as hanging objects. So I can step into my utopia/journeys of Thailand.

A view from The intercontinental hotel in Bangkok.

Long tail boat journey to Railey,Krabi.

Elephant riding in Phuket.

The construction of the big buddha, phuket.

Journey driving under the Chao Phraya Bridges, Bangkok, Thailand.

Tuk tuk, these 3 wheel motorbike/car are Thailand equivalence of a taxi.
